"Toyotie"

If you know me or follow me one of the social media sites like Twitter or Facebook, you know we’ve been busy lately. And even if you only know me through this blog, you may have suspected the same, given the lack of updates for the last two months.

We spent pretty much the entire month of July packing and moving. We only moved a very short distance, but we did it all ourselves and there was much work involved. August was unpacking, setting up the new house, doing paperwork and getting our lives back in order.

Now it’s mid-September. We have a new vehicle – more on that soon – and we’re still getting settled in. I write this between two appointments (both rescheduled by companies unable to meet their commitments) on a busy Saturday. But in general, life is good.

I plan a lot of upcoming posts about our new vehicle acquisition, a 1996 80-series Toyota Land Cruiser. The “Toyotie” (as Allison immediately named it) will be replacing our beloved Jeep as the family offroad and road trip vehicle. Those are some pretty big shoes to fill, so I hope that is up for the task. But I think it should be.

More soon…

  1. Dan Says:

What made you decide to move from the Wrangler to the Land Cruiser?

  2. David Says:

That’s two questions in one. I’ll post more details later but in a nutshell, we outgrew our beloved Wrangler and the search for something larger led me to the Land Cruiser series 80.
