12 of 12: December, 2010

I was thankful to see a 12 of 12 fall on a weekend for a change. Better yet, it was on a day when I planned to get out for a long hike. By the time the 12th had arrived though, the long hike plan had been replaced with a shorter version due to time constraints. Still, there would still be plenty of fodder for the gallery.

The way I see it though, it’s almost like cheating. I mean, it would be so easy to grab 12 of the 48 or so images I’d be uploading to the full hike gallery I planned to make. But when 12 of 12 arrives on a “big gallery” day, I prefer to make the 12 of 12 gallery a little different.

On these days I like to have the 12 of 12 consist of more “behind the scenes” photos, as well as perhaps ones that I thought were interesting for some reason, even though they didn’t make the cut for the big gallery. In fact, that perspective is maybe the most fun for me. I’m not sure why.

Unfortunately, I was so rushed before and after the hike that I either wasn’t thinking about 12 of 12, or I didn’t have time for photography. Or rather, I opted against taking photos for the sake of getting my chores done. Still, there were plenty of photos to choose from, even with a little overlap in the galleries.
