Today was a good day, spent on the backroads (both paved and dirt) with my daughter and my friend Tony. We visited several geocaches, and located several benchmarks as well.
We saw a golden eagle perched on a large fencepost, a cottontail rabbit, and something that could have been a mountain lion or just about anything else of that size.
We saw a curved bridge. You don’t see many curved bridges…
We saw a feed supply store that probably used to be the town railroad station. We also saw a lot of rain!
We saw farms, and the vivid early season green colors in the grass and trees. We saw a seasonal stream flowing across the road we were on. We saw several verdant, pastoral valleys.
We saw a fountain of mud spray up from the rear tires on the Jeep more than once. We saw a lot of mud in fact: on our shoes, our pants, our jackets, our hands, and always more again on our shoes.
Did I mention that today was a good day?
