Welcome to my new blog

I used to have an infrequently-updated blog on Yahoo 360, but over time it became apparent to me that Yahoo had lost interest in “360” and was it was just sort of left out to swing in the breeze. Links to some of their photo album areas broke, users were bailing for other sites, and the logo still carried the “Beta” tag after almost three years(!) which might be a record of some kind.

As a result, I decided that I really needed a blog – or something like one – that was properly integrated with the rest of my site. This new “Backroad Navigator” WordPress blog is the result.

This blog will give me some better options for some of the content I’ve had on the site, or have been meaning to add. I intend for it to mostly cover my core hobbies and passions: exploring backroads and other interesting areas off the beaten track, offroading, geocaching, GPS and navigation, and so on. But surely I’ll delve into my many other areas of interest such as music, books, cars and Formula 1, photography, and so many other things.

I’m writing the blog for two reasons really. First, it allows me to share information and opinions with people that are interested. Second, it’s just something I want to do even if no one ever reads any of it. Some writers will tell you they write because they have to. It’s not that pressing of n issue to me, but I do really want to do it. So here it is.
