I have a very welcome, too-brief diversion from the current financial stress coming up in the form of a trip to the Big Island of Hawaii. We’re extremely fortunate in that it’s almost an all-expense paid trip, as we’d never have been able to afford it right now otherwise.

Unfortunately, I can’t bring the Jeep with me – wish I could! – but I’m *hoping* to get a 4×4 rental for a day or two while there. In the meantime it’s been a week of trip preparations with a couple of hiking breaks thrown in for good measure. I don’t plan to blog while there but expect to Twitter irregularly.

I’m really looking forward to it, I love to travel and experience new places! I’ve been to Oahu and Maui before, but not for many years. Those trips were also before I was into geocaching, offroading, hiking, and before I was got good at finding unique locations that interested me. They were fantastic trips anyway, but I hope that this one will be the best.
