We’re currently in Oregon for the holidays, and naturally when Oregon is experiencing some of its biggest winter storms in decades. This includes record snowfall in the Portland area and it surely made for some interesting driving on our way here. Some of the major routes to the coast from I-5 were closed, and at times the driving conditions varied between “difficult” and “treacherous”.
Here at the coast, there are no storms or snow -at the moment – but it’s still cold. Well, cold to Californians anyway. The high temperature today couldn’t quite sueak out of the 30s.
Speaking of degrees, here at Road’s End, we’re right at 45° North, halfway between the equator and the North Pole.
I’ll post a gallery and more after we’re home and I’ve sorted through all the photos. Until then, Merry Christmas!
Drive carefully – and enjoy! Eleventh Christmas in this hemisphere, and summer still doesn’t feel right for it!
