Offroad and on the Trails

Random Thoughts, Dec. 10th

In no particular order:

1. Snuva’s Blog has had quite a lot of updates lately. It’s nice to have more good reading material at hand… Thanks!

2. On a related bloggy note, I discovered that I’d only been linking to the geocaching section of Cap’n Finder’s blog in my blogroll here. I’ve corrected that, and have been enjoying his other recent posts there. I need to dig into the back posts when I have the time.

3. The new Futurama direct-to-DVD was good, but not insanely great as I’d been hoping. I think the first half hour or so of TBWaBB was still the highpoint of the DVD releases so far, with the laughs coming at a furious pace. But I still enjoyed Bender’s Game, and I snicker each time I recall the Amy-Leela makeout scene.

4. It’s Christmas season, the budget is very tight and I have several things I’m holding off on because I don’t have the spare money, we’re in a recession… And the clothes dryer and TV have just concluded their unnatural mechanical suicide pact. Sigh. The replacement TV will count as the major family Christmas gift.

5. I’ve replaced Twhirl with TweetDeck on both XP and MacOS, and overall am very happy with it. It could use some improvements (like not always losing the window size and location information on the Mac) but the groups function alone makes it my Twitter app of choice. (Oh, and if you really want to hear me yapping about nothing more often, find me on Twitter. Then consider seeing a psychiatrist.)

6. When coworkers ask me what I’ve been up to, I derive some satisfaction from being able to inform them that I’ve been working on the TARDIS for much of the day.

7. It’s challenging to dress correctly, even when you have a firm grasp of the layering concept, when its 39F outside in the morning and 78F at your desk.

8. I wish that Susan and Tina would bring back Switchblade Symphony.

I Hope I’m not descending into trivial tedium! I just thought since I upload photos every day, maybe put up a post more frequently.
