Offroad and on the Trails

Point Bonita

Quick post…. A few pics from our visit to Point Bonita two weeks ago are up. We were lucky and had wonderfully good, warm weather. It was a little windy, but not bad at all, and definitely nothing you could complain about for mid-November on the Bay. It’s a wonderful area, and we got to see the new zepellin make two passes of the Golden Gate Bridge.

We saw no large passenger liners or cargo vessels this time, and wondered if that was perhaps related to the global economic situation.

It’s sure chilly here now. At I write this (10pm) the outside thermometer is showing 48F. This may be the coldest night of the year so far.

Also the fog this morning was of the “pea soup” variety in places. At one point, I couldn’t see any hint of a large overpass that was less than 200 yards in front of us. I love the fog though. It often brings back vivid memories of my youth, wandering through the woods and pretending I was a ranger in Mirkwood.
