Offroad and on the Trails

So what's new?

As I type this, the Jeep is in the shop getting new rear axle shafts. (Edit: That would be two rear axle shafts, seals, and bearings. Oh and a transmission service while it’s there.)

The M3 needs work done on it, but man is it still fun to drive. A great car.

I have posts lined up I need to work on. Depending on how they shake out, it will probably be one on our day at Point Bonita last weekend, maybe one of the Sacramento geocaching “numbers run”, one on the mythical “Lost in the Wilds” book, and another road trip medley gallery. Other low-priority posts linger in the steamy recesses of my mind as well, including a big “random thoughts extravaganza” post.

It all depends on how much time I have, but I’m hoping that the long Thanksgiving weekend will help. I’m daydreaming about spending a relaxing hour with my laptop and a latte or two at Almaden Roasting Company….

Thanks for the update; I was wondering why, after posting in the forum about your numbers run, that didn’t appear here. And then I remembered how many ‘draft’ posts I have on my site so thought I’d best keep quiet! 😉 But this and the book post are a nice read as I have my morning coffee and prepare to enjoy a Monday off by going off with another cacher on a drive / caching trip.

Thank you. I don’t feel so bad about slow updates here, when I click on the most of the sites in my blogroll (like yours) and WHAT? No updates again! It’s been like two whole days… The nerve! ;^)

I hadn’t planned on getting to the book post until next weekend, but this head cold I have has forced some schedule changes. I’m also rebuilding my iPhoto libraries in an attempt to get it to be usable again, so I can get some galleries and other pictures together for more posts. Wish I was out hiking instead, but c’est la vie.

Sorry to hear you have a head cold! For once I was actually able to get out this weekend! I had some high terrain caches planned for Saturday and Sunday, then a caching trip with a cacher who has moved here from San Diego. Man, those SoCal cachers can talk your ear off 😉 Anyway, so now I have even more to write up. I update Flickr more often then my blog, so there’s always lots of photos to see! Just no context. . .But I hope to do a post for each day this weekend plus Monday, hopefully during lunch times this week. It’s lunch now and I’ve got photos uploading.

Good to know! I’ll check out the Flickr pics…

“Lost in the Wilds” by D. Croyles

The Edge is a great movie and one of my favorites. It reminds me of L’amour’s “Last of the Breed” (one of the few of his works set in contemporary times).

I was looking for “Lost in the Wilds” and found your website.

    Thanks for the info.
