As we made our 130-mile drive to the start of South Coast Ridge Road from San Jose, we pulled over at Carmel-by-the-Sea so that I could retrieve Allison's fleece throw blanket for her. As it turned out, this gave me the opportunity to snap this photo of the large Carmelite Monastery there.
