Aha! Finally something new. Soon after leaving I-5 and onto Highway 138, we passed a sign for the Rochester covered bridge. I turned around and took the side road to it, and was happy that it wasn't far off.

I like covered bridges and it was nice to discover this one. Built in 1933 over the Calapooya Creek, it is said that the locals took up arms in the late 1950s when they feared the county planned to tear down and replace it with a modern bridge.
