Mountain Rendezvous was held a few weeks later in October this year, and a pleasant side-effect of that was that we were there during the peak of the fall colors. Here we are approaching Camp Tahquitz after our drive of the Big Pine Flats Trail that morning. More on that in another blog post and gallery.

After refueling and picking up some food in Big Bear City, we made the half-hour drive to Mountain Rendezvous via Highway 38, one of the highest highways in southern California. Along the drive my GPS topped out at 8,436'.
