Transit of Venus historical marker surrounding Hawaii Territory Survey marker. Date of 1829 is probably an error, I think, since no one knows what it means. The Transit of Venus observations here took place in 1879, so this would have been placed on the 50th anniversay, but I guess someone thought it was the 100th.
