Interesting and unexpected social commentary in the small town of Waimea, on our way to the east side of the island. I couldn't recall anything like it from my previous Hawaiian trips. In some ways it was nice to get a quick peek at a Hawaii that was deeper than what was built for the tourists' consumption.
