Just a few minutes of hiking later, I encounter Mr. Slitherface here on the trail. A gopher snake, he doesn't move mutch while I take his photo from a discrete distance. I wonder if he is going to get run over by a mountain bike flying down this hill, but when I passed by here at the tail end of my hike, there was no snakey corpse on the trail, so I assume he made it.
