The Mojave Road changes character again here, leaving behind the sandy river washes and becoming more typical desert terrain as I know it. The ground is firmer but there was also our first "whoopdy-doos" here. They are undulations in the track that force you to watch your speed, lest you get a good see-saw effect going that can slam down the front of your vehicle pretty hard and give your suspension a beating. Having properly secured cargo is also helpful, but moderating your speed is really the key.
