A little south of Portland, this was the pretty view east across the Willamette River. The imposing Mt. Hood can be seen in the distance.

As I write this in mid-December, a lady that our Portland relatives know was one of two climbers that has been missing on Mt. Hood for four days. The third member of their group was found dead.
